Matt Angell is a musical maverick. With soul-stirring melodies and poignant lyrics, his voice captivates audiences whether on intimate stages or large festivals.

Raised in the rugged Pilbara of Western Australia, Angell's musical odyssey began when an old guitar jumped from a mini-moke and into his hands—the dawning of a lifelong love aair. Angell spent countless hours immersed in records, self-teaching guitar, crafting his style and writing songs.

Influenced by a diverse array of artists such as Johnny Cash, Neil Young and Leonard Cohen, Angell’s sound is a fusion of Country, folk, blues and more.

With a poetic and straightforward approach, Angell delves into the harshness of life exploring themes of love, loss, and self-discovery. He’ll drop you to the depths of human existence and unexplainable feelings while you toe-tap along. His performances are an experience that lingers long after the final note.

As an independent artist, he holds an impressive five albums and numerous singles. His 2018 album 'Circles' was recorded in Nashville, TN with Andrija Tokic, the producer of Alabama Shakes' first album.

Supporting The Badloves as a career first milestone set the precedent for his career. He’s gone on to share stages with the likes of The Animals, Eskimo Joe, Jon Stevens and Ben Lee.

Behind the scenes, Angell has been unearthing a treasure trove of lost recordings along with some new gems and is ready to reveal them to the world.
